Influence Live 3 - the future for Brand Britain

Influence Live is back and is coming April 2019!

Positioning Brand Britain

Our first speaker, Jules Chappell OBE, has spent her career working in the highest echelons of foreign affairs. Formerly the UK's youngest-ever ambassador, Chappell worked to strengthen the UK's relationships around the world including spells in Jordan, Iraq, and the US. She went on to work on the hugely admired Britain is GREAT campaign.

Now Managing Director, Business at London & Partners, the Mayor of London's promotional team, Chappell is responsible for attracting foreign direct investment and bring major events to the capital; as well as helping London-based companies to expand internationally.

This wealth of experience gives Chappell unique insight into how London and the UK will position itself in a post-Brexit world - insight she will be sharing at Influence Live 3.

Purpose-led communications is becoming a buzzword, but what does it take to do it well?

Sarah Kemp, senior global communications manager at Vodafone and Miki Haines-Sanger, managing director of Golden Goose PR, the agency which has supported Vodafone on global communications since 2013, will discuss how Vodafone is driving positive change through communications.

They will highlight the ways that Vodafone is using mobile technology to increase access to education, healthcare, financial inclusion and digital skills, and the company’s initiatives to become a more inclusive and diverse employer.

Examples of the purpose-led comms they’ll be discussing include a pioneering global maternity policy, an initiative called ‘ReConnect’ to get career-break women back into the workplace in management roles, and #EqualAtWork, a campaign to support LGBT+ staff and increase job applications from the community on a global scale.

Plan your 2020 news strategy now: Insights from the Press Association:

Forward planning is an essential element in successful communications strategies.

However, too many PRs fail to lay the necessary groundwork with news teams ahead of major announcements or when responding to news affecting their sectors. Wesley Johnson, Head of Planning at PA (the Press Association), explains why news editors are so grumpy and will share valuable insights into the practices which reporters will thank you for… and the ones that will see you ignored.

Meet the Influencers III:

The Vuelio Media Database lists tens of thousands of influencers, including journalists, editors and producers as well as those at the heart of influencer marketing: bloggers, vloggers and social media stars. Our next ‘Meet the Influencers’ session will give you a chance to learn on a face to face basis from fitness and lifestyle Instagrammer Jade Joselyn, athlete, father and YouTube star Gabriel Sey and the gluten free food blogger Becky Excell.

Find out how these influencers work with PRs and brands like yourself in this informal and interactive session.

Britain’s Got Talent, with Reuben Sinclair:

We’re constantly hearing that there’s a ‘dearth of talent’ in the PR and Communications industry and that PR agencies and in house teams are struggling to hire good people. With Brexit potentially set to affect our access to overseas talent, this session will take a look at the talent in Britain across PR and Communications, as well as other transferable industries.

Reuben Sinclair will be on hand to provide practical advice on how to widen and diversify talent pools and prove that Britain has indeed got talent.

The rest of the programme will feature other thought-provoking speakers and original content, as well as the opportunity to network among the Influence community.

The event will be held on Thursday, April 25 and will include a drinks reception.

We're offering the first 25 tickets at an early bird rate of £25+VAT. You'll need to be quick as once these tickets are gone normal pricing will take effect.
