The Art World is Full of Opportunities for Young PR Professionals

By James Knight.

The BBC programme Fake or Fortune with Fiona Bruce and international art dealer Philip Mould has achieved so much of awareness of the Arts. As the two of them examine people's paintings to ascertain if they are originals or fakes they give the Art world original PR.

To keep-up interest in the lockdown Philip Mould has been presenting from his own collection "Art in Isolation"  where he highlights a painting in his collection.

PR has played a major part of interest in art and the movies. In the James Bond movie Skyfall, Bond, played by Daniel Craig, is seen in front of Turner's painting the The Fighting Temeraire, at the National Gallery in London, while waiting to meet Q with his bag full of tricks. Visitor numbers soared after the film release, another aspects of the creative industries bringing art and movies to the public.

In America Cedar Seni Hospital in Los Angeles brought art and PR together, when entrepreneur Douglas Wiseman was rushed to the hospital with heart problems in a critical state, he recovered and he decided to donate a Warhol painting to the hospital . Now they have 4,000 paintings donated to the hospital through his friends and business colleagues featuring even Picasso, many of them on show, yet again very unique PR.

Chelsea Westminster has an active art classes after care for patients, plus an active art collection to view in the corridors of the hospital, yet again really good PR.

When in the States a few years ago I meet Steve Wynn who was responsible for the Bellagio on the Strip, the Las Vegas hotel with the Singing Fountains fame. He build-up his art collection, then sold the hotel and built Wynn Encore which houses many world masterpieces, he has achieved a great deal for PR and the arts.

We have great galleries in London and throughout Britain where there is job opportunities for young PR practitioners to obtain employment, we will see growth in this area when we get back to normal.

It's natural for the two excellent creative arts to join together - PR and the Arts share many traits.
