About Us

Influence is a digital content hub for public relations professionals. It contains weekly long-form articles written by leading journalists exclusively for CIPR members, and our regular, highly popular blog content commissioned by us and created by industry thought leaders. We cover all areas of the public relations sector including crisis communications, internal comms, public sector, not-for-profit, public affairs, technology, wellbeing, ESG, DEI, social media and more. As part of our evolution, the Influence team also reviews the latest products, apps, tech, books, podcasts and media, plus the hottest and quirkiest venues to hold PR launch events and conferences.
 

History

Launched in 2016, Influence Magazine quickly made its mark as the industry's most authoritative communications journal, winning multiple awards for its provocative, playful approach and compelling thought leadership. It scooped the MemCom award for Best Magazine for a Professional Association for three consecutive years and in 2018 took the gong for the Best Membership Magazine in the World at the International Content Marketing Awards. (Past issues of the magazine remain online as an archive for members.)

Now fully transformed and digital, the Influence platform offers insight, practical help and thought leadership for professionals striving to stay ahead in the fast paced, dynamic and ever-changing public relations industry. 

In April 2024, we entered the next phase of our development, moving from a quarterly online magazine to producing weekly long-reads. This means we are even better placed to react to our fast-paced industry. Our writers are leading journalists, editors, academics and practitioners who understand the sector and can convey the trends and tensions, challenges and opportunities of the industry in the UK and internationally.
