Time in PR: Five years
What does your current role involve?
I manage a portfolio of clients, leading account teams that have delivered over 1200 pieces of coverage for clients. Outside of client work, I play a role on the management team - leading the drive towards attaining Blueprint status. I also play a leading role in the agency’s L&D initiatives.
What do you love most about working in public relations?
I thrive on the creativity and strategy involved in PR. Collaborating across diverse sectors to simplify complex ideas for various audiences excites me. The fast-paced environment energises me, and there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing the joy on clients’ faces when they’re pleased with our work.
What's been the highlight of your career so far?
A career highlight has been becoming one of the UK’s youngest PR practitioners to achieve CIPR Chartership status. Additionally, mentoring through the Taylor Bennett Foundation and CIPR’s BME reverse mentoring scheme allows me to contribute to a more diverse and inclusive industry, which I find deeply fulfilling.
How long have you been a member and what made you join?
I’ve been a member for two years. Hard Numbers emphasises up-skilling and CPD, ensuring each member of the team has a CIPR membership. It’s fantastic to work at an agency that truly supports learning and development.
How does the CIPR support your career?
By having access to a variety of resources including training programmes, skill guides and workshops, I’m able to keep up to date with industry changes while prioritising my CPD. I’m also able to connect with other PR Pros at CIPR hosted events and meet-ups.
Best piece of career advice you’ve been given?
Seek out a mentor! This has helped me massively over the years - I wouldn’t have made it this far in my career without the regular feedback and support from my mentors. Their insights have not only supported my development, but also helped me navigate some complex situations – truly invaluable support.
