Dive into luxury: The best rooftop pools in London
Looking to make a splash with a summer launch or team day out? Try one of London’s rooftop pools, offering stunning city views, luxurious cocktails – and instant LA-style dazzle
Shoreditch House
Located in east London’s historic Tea Building, this luxurious rooftop pool, adorned with chic red and white-striped sun loungers, has ample room to splash in at 16 metres long. Between dips, the poolside bar offers a selection of cocktails, and an up-close view of the Gherkin (the building, not what’s at the bottom of your glass). Exclusively available to members, it’s a serene retreat from the city’s hustle and bustle, in one of London’s trendiest neighbourhoods.

The Berkeley
This one’s strictly for hotel guests, so you’ll be combining this with a stay. But it’s worth it: a heated pool offering breathtaking views of Knightsbridge, Belgravia and Hyde Park, with tropical smoothies and seasonal spritzes on offer at the poolside bar. During the day, the menu includes Angus beef fillet with artichoke pesto and Dorset crab salad, and by evening, the rooftop transforms into a vibrant hotspot with a Mexican-styled menu, perfect for private events with up to 60 guests.

The Sky Pool
Unique even among London’s remarkable rooftop pools, the Sky Pool at Embassy Gardens in Nine Elms is the world’s first ‘floating’ pool, suspended 35 metres above ground. Bridging two high-rise buildings this 25-metre-long, crystal-clear pool creates a peculiar, not to mention vertiginous sensation of soaring above the city – and is complemented by the Orangery and Sky Deck for relaxing and socialising. Exclusive to EG Club members.

Art’otel at Battersea power station
Sticking with this part of south London, the Art’otel at Battersea power station features a fabulous rooftop infinity pool on the 16th floor of this recently renovated £9bn development. Here, guests can enjoy panoramic cityscape views while gazing at the iconic Battersea power station chimneys; further unwinding at the rooftop bar, sauna, and spa. The hotel itself also features an art exhibition space with bi-monthly artists in residence, making it an ideal retreat for art enthusiasts.

White City House
This one’s members-only too, but will be worth the, well, licence fee, situated as it is in the historic Television Centre in west London. Operated by Soho House, the sophisticated yet relaxed White City House offers a chic rooftop oasis with, yes, gorgeous views of the capital. Comfortable loungers surround the heated pool that comes with a stylish bar and casual dining space, serving a range of drinks and light bites to a creative and professional crowd.
