What does your current role involve?
I lead the team at the Centre to drive the university’s internationalisation agenda, develop policies, build relationships and manage the university’s international stakeholders, memberships and strategic alliances.
What do you love most about working in public relations?
Building and managing strategic relationships that positively impact the bottom line.
What's been the highlight of your career so far?
I had the opportunity to demonstrate my relevance by using many different skills to develop a virtual internship simulation programme which enabled final year students to meet the internship prerequisite for graduation during the pandemic.
How long have you been a member and what made you join?
Three years. I joined because I wanted to be part of CIPR’s global community of public relations professionals and leverage the tools, support and exclusive resources that CIPR provides it members. I certainly wanted the industry recognition as well.
How does the CIPR support your career?
My CIPR membership in itself is a badge of honour, credibility and professionalism. I derive immense value from the ethical guidance, resources and publications too.
Best piece of career advice you’ve been given?
Cultivate strong strategic relationships, be empathetic in your communication and maintain a solid network.
